Shamar Hope Haven Residential Treatment Center

Shamar Hope Haven Residential Treatment Center is a private not-for-profit organization established in 2000 to provide treatment and education to youth and families whose lives have been devastated by drugs, alcohol and family issues. At that time, families had lost their children to drug, alcohol, poor living condition, no supervision in the homes and gang violence. This inspired the need for our program to provide comprehensive and quality services to achieve lasting changes in the values and behaviors of youth, in order to create healthy lifestyles and healthy families.

• Opened in 2001
• Ages 10 to 17 years at admission
• Capacity - 22 Males only
• Length of Stay - 6 to 9 months, based on individual need
• Location - Southeast quadrant of Houston, Texas near downtown area
• Licensure - Texas Department of State Health Services and Texas Department Of Family And Protective Services
• Education - Houston Independent School District and on site by an accredited school

Who We Are

Shamar Hope Haven Residential Treatment Center is a 501(c) 3 supported by private donations, grants, and a contract with Texas Department of State Health Services and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Donations to Shamar Hope Haven are tax deductible.

Shamar Hope Haven adheres to the following procedures to ensure that staff hired are competent and appropriate for positions within the agency 

Shamar Hope Haven treatment team is composed of the Program Director/LMSW, Executive Director, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Psychiatrist, Vocational Trainer and License Master Social Worker/ACP who have over ten to twenty years of experience working with children.
